This amazing panorama features the Olympic Village, the BC and GM Place Stadiums, the host of Winter 2010 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
Vancouver's Olympic and Paralympic Village is located on the southeast side of False Creek and offers stunning views of the city's downtown skyline and Coast mountains. The newly constructed low- and mid-rise apartment buildings will house 2,730 athletes and officials during the Olympics and 350 Paralympians. The Village's central location is a short walk away from BC Place. This venue will host the Olympic opening and closing ceremonies as well as nightly Victory ceremonies and numerous cultural celebrations.
In addition, Science World is visible from this panorama. One of the Olympic Village's closest neighbours is Science World. More than a Vancouver attraction, Science World is a city landmark with its round, geodesic dome shape standing out from Vancouver's angular skyline. Featuring hands-on, interactive displays, an OMNIMAX theatre with one of the world's largest curved screens, and an ever-changing presentation of touring exhibits, Science World is a great place to spend the day. The dome is located at 1455 Quebec Street, along the Seawall, and is accessible by foot, car, or public transit (the Main Street-Science World Skytrain station lets you off just a few steps away). For admission rates, OMNIMAX film listings, and information on touring science exhibits, visit Science World's website.
