We're just about at mid-November, which means it's getting dark in the afternoon, and it looks like we've seen the beginnings of some winter weather. Here are some things to do in and around Vancouver this week:
There are more than 60 bands participating in the Georgia Straight's Nearly Famous fest, which takes place over four days at 10 different venues. Wristbands are just $20 in advance, or $30 at the door. Check out acts like the Manvils, Rich Hope Three Hills, the Heck, Lil Guitar Army, Burn Hollywood Burn, Motorama, the Yams, SNFU, Left Spine Down, Last Plague, Bel Riose, Hawaiian Bibles, Jordan Carrier, Eldorado, Shiloh Lindsey, the Savannah Leigh Band, Hot Little Rocket, the Painted Birds, and Adaline. Join in the Toast To The Coast fundraiser for the Vancouver Aquarium's conservation programs, which takes you into the aquarium after hours.
